Cinquante ans d’intelligibilité: La contribution de la Faculté des Sciences Humaines (FASCH) à la compréhension de la société haïtienne

Résumé

Cet article examine la contribution de la Faculté des Sciences Humaines (FASCH) de l’Université d’État d’Haïti à la compréhension de la société haïtienne depuis sa création en 1974. L’étude analyse quantitativement et qualitativement 796 mémoires produits entre 1982 et 2024 dans quatre disciplines : sociologie, communication sociale, service social et psychologie. L’auteur explore les dynamiques de production de recherche et les ancrages disciplinaires. L’analyse révèle une augmentation significative de la productivité scientifique malgré des défis contextuels. L’article met en lumière la volonté d’intelligibilité qui anime ces travaux, manifestée à travers leur articulation théorique, leur rigueur méthodologique, leur sévérité empirique et leur réflexivité scientifique. L’étude conclut en soulignant le potentiel de la FASCH pour contribuer davantage à la compréhension et à la transformation des réalités sociales haïtiennes, tout en proposant des pistes d’amélioration pour renforcer sa capacité de recherche et la diffusion de ses travaux scientifiques.

Abstract

This article examines the contribution of the Faculty of Human Sciences (FASCH) of the State University of Haiti to the understanding of Haitian society since its creation in 1974. The study quantitatively and qualitatively analyzes 796 theses produced between 1982 and 2024 in four disciplines: sociology, social communication, social work, and psychology. The author explores the dynamics of research production as well as disciplinary anchors. The analysis reveals a significant increase in scientific productivity despite contextual challenges. The article highlights the will for intelligibility that drives these works, manifested through their theoretical grounding, methodological rigor, empirical severity, and scientific reflexivity. The study concludes by emphasizing FASCH’s potential to further contribute to the understanding and transformation of Haitian social realities, while proposing ways to improve its research capacity and the dissemination of its scientific work.
